Every single person in our city deserves to live with dignity and respect, no matter our race, our religion, how much money we make, or how we move through the world. 

Unfortunately, for the 1 in 6 of us who are living with a disability, there are still a lot more barriers and challenges than there should be. 

The hard truth is that we simply aren’t where we want to be yet—which is why improving Disability Rights & Access is one of Jonathan’s biggest priorities.

Jonathan has worked tirelessly for 7 years in the State Assembly to expand access to all of the people in our community who are continually denied basic dignity and civil rights. As our Alderperson, he'll continue to break down barriers to equity and build on these accomplishments:

• Won major legislative battles, fighting alongside the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and their interpreters to increase access to sign language interpretation
• Pushed hard for more funding for healthcare, mental healthcare, behavioral health programs, and suicide prevention 
• Championed programs that fund cancer screenings  
• Advocated for essential investments to help veterans and homeless youth in our community
• Pushed for funding and training to ensure that healthcare workers and interpreters are licensed and fully equipped to assist the populations they serve
